The Hero side is one of two factions in Sonic Adventure 2 (Battle), or SA2(B) for short. Not to be confused with the Villian side, the Hero side is primarily composed of characters who generally act out good deeds. While the idea of "good" is completely subjective, for the purposes of this article we assume the definition is "stopping the villain side from blowing up the whole planet". The term "good" gets even more ambiguous, however, towards the end of the story when the "heroes" work alongside the "villains" to kill a unique lifeform which is the only one of its species.

It gets even more confusing if you take a look at another game in the franchise, Sonic Heroes. You will notice that the word "Heroes" is directly in the name. However, multiple characters from the "villain" side of SA2-B are playable in Sonic Heroes, implying that they are actually heroes themselves. While that may seem outside the scope of this game, I firmly believe the games' lores are intertwined with each other, because I played them both on the GameCube as an impressionable youth.
